Discover the Joy of Classical Education—Right from the Start!
At St. Ann Classical Academy, wonder begins early. In our Lower School (PreK–3rd Grade), young learners delight in stories that inspire virtue, songs that stir the heart, and hands-on lessons that awaken curiosity.
Rooted in the rich tradition of Classical education and guided by the truths of our Catholic faith, our students grow in wisdom and joy—learning not just how to read, but how to wonder; not just how to count, but how to marvel at the order of creation.

As we concluded the Lenten season, our students participated in a moving retreat led by Sr. Ella Mae, reflecting on the Cross, Christ’s Passion, and the Paschal Mystery. The day was rooted in prayer, featuring Adoration and Benediction, and offered students the opportunity to deepen their relationship with Christ. In true Classical fashion, students integrated theology, mathematics, and art through the creation of symmography crosses—a visual and spiritual meditation on the Cross that combined precise geometry with profound meaning.
Our 3rd and 5th graders shared the joy of the Resurrection by crafting Easter cards for the Religious Teachers Filippini. Some of our Upper School students also embraced the Holy Week tradition of exchanging olive branches. As a final gesture, a beautifully decorated branch was presented to Sr. Ella Mae as a sign of friendship and gratitude.
Forming hearts and minds through faith and reason—this is the heart of a Catholic classical education.
On April 11, Grade 6 presented the Living Stations of the Cross as we prepared to enter into Holy Week. With heartfelt performances, they led our school community through the Passion of Christ—inviting us to walk with Him on the road to Calvary. This powerful reflection wove together the dramatic arts, theology, and history, beautifully capturing the essence of our Catholic and Classical identity. Through word and action, our students gave witness to the depth of Christ’s love and the hope of His sacrifice.
Our 6th graders dove into the mystery of the human body, studying organ systems in their nature studies/science unit. Dressed in lab coats and equipped with stethoscopes, they engaged in dialogue with a "patient" with an unknown condition. Using the classical tools of logic and rhetoric, the students diagnosed the patient and presented their findings.
Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, our students are learning to think clearly, speak truthfully, and love deeply.
This is learning that forms the whole person—mind, body, and soul!
Our 5th grade students stepped into the shoes of Lewis and Clark this week, embarking on an on-campus expedition rooted in classical education. With journals and pencils in hand, they documented the flora, fauna, infrastructure, and signs of culture they encountered—just as the Corps of Discovery once did!
This integrated lesson beautifully wove together history, nature study, and the art of observation, encouraging students to slow down, look closely, and connect the past to the present. Classical education at its best: cultivating wonder, forming habits of attention, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning.
As a culminating activity on the Crusades, our 3rd graders crafted shields that beautifully integrated History, Religion, and Math.
They discovered that Crusades comes from the Latin word Crux, meaning cross – a symbol the Pope told the Crusaders to wear as they fought to reclaim the Holy Land.
Applying their recent math lessons, students used standard and metric measurements to design a cross template for their shields. Rulers, faith, and creativity all came together!
Our second graders dove into a memory matching game this week as part of their spelling lessons on contractions—and they LOVED it!
In a Classical classroom, we honor the natural joy of learning by building strong foundations in language, grammar, and logic—even through play!
On St. Patrick’s Day, our seventh and eighth graders dressed in green to celebrate the beloved saint—and launched into an exciting STREAM adventure!
Under the guidance of Upper School Science teacher Mr. Cirillo, students built and tested a working model of a trebuchet, applying their knowledge of force and motion as part of their classical Nature Studies. With the concept proven and data collected, the full build is now officially underway for the upcoming STREAM Fair!
This hands-on experience blends science, engineering, creativity, and wonder—just as a classical liberal arts education is meant to do. Rooted in faith and reason, our students are learning to explore the world as a reflection of God’s orderly and awe-inspiring creation.
From festive green to flinging machines—this day had it all!
A Joyful Creation for the 2025 Jubilee Year!
Our Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st-grade students have been hard at work creating a beautiful "stained glass" banner for the 2025 Jubilee Year
By carefully placing tissue paper squares, they designed a colorful display that will hang above our Jubilee Doors, a reminder of our faith-filled journey toward Christ.
We can’t wait to unveil the completed Jubilee Doors soon! Check back for the big reveal and join us in celebrating this special moment in our school’s faith journey.
