April 16
As we concluded the Lenten season, our students participated in a moving retreat led by Sr. Ella Mae, reflecting on the Cross, Christ’s Passion, and the Paschal Mystery. The day was rooted in prayer, featuring Adoration and Benediction, and offered students the opportunity to deepen their relationship with Christ.In true Classical fashion, students integrated theology, mathematics, and art through the creation of symmography crosses—a visual and spiritual meditation on the Cross that combined precise geometry with profound meaning. Our 3rd and 5th graders shared the joy of the Resurrection by crafting Easter cards for the Religious Teachers Filippini. Some of our Upper School students also embraced the Holy Week tradition of exchanging olive branches. As a final gesture, a beautifully decorated branch was presented to Sr. Ella Mae as a sign of friendship and gratitude. On April 11, Grade 6 presented the Living Stations of the Cross as we prepared to enter into Holy Week. With heartfelt performances, they led our school community through the Passion of Christ—inviting us to walk with Him on the road to Calvary. This powerful reflection wove together the dramatic arts, theology, and history, beautifully capturing the essence of our Catholic and Classical identity. April 12
Our 6th graders dove into the mystery of the human body, studying organ systems in their nature studies/science unit. Dressed in lab coats and equipped with stethoscopes, they engaged in dialogue with a "patient" with an unknown condition. Using the classical tools of logic and rhetoric, the students diagnosed the patient and presented their findings. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, our students are learning to think clearly, speak truthfully, and love deeply.
